A) he had 7 sacks the year prior before taking one for the team by moving inside.
B) other players with tools have made the jump in the pros. Ex. Danielle Hunter only had 4.5 total in college. Jason Pierre-Paul only 6.5 sacks in his lone FBS season. Ziggy Ansah had 4.5 his final year. Chris Jones had 8 career sacks in college.

@WestSportsPT I think the only one I’m vehemently against is Faulk. Using round 1 capital on a long tall , good for his frame athlete,with no pass rush feels like a no-no. Wouldn’t hate Jacas, in round 2 or 3. As for Parker meh.

People fall in love with 1 or 2 prospects and everyone else sucks apparently. Ignore the fact that all three aforementioned players are good ass players who will have roles in this league.

Quick interior pass rush is the key to pretty much every elite defense. That's why he chases that. I'd rather have a dominant 3T than a dominant edge, too. But they're rare, and if the pass rush doesn't develop you get a lot of light in the ass guys who don't do anything well

100% agree with this. To me, the optimal way to build a defensive line is run stuffing tackles that can push the pocket,m+pass rushing edge rushers who aren’t liabilities in the run. DA (and other smart football people!) seem to prefer the opposite which I don’t understand
