I’m incredibly proud to have been in charge of such a prestigious and impressive news beast that is Newsbeat when huge global events occurred like the Iran war, Iranian protests, Venezuela, Bondi shooting - the list goes on.

Yesterday was my last day as a Senior Journalist Reporter for BBC Radio 1, 1xtra and Asian Network’s Newsbeat! I started 9 months ago - in a new way of working, a new role, a new title, at a new team, working on new output, for new radio stations, in a completely new location.

So excited to see Newsbeat’s journalism being picked up by different places in the BBC and I’m so proud when I manage to get them a byline! It’s a privilege to continue to grow in this role alongside them 🤓 #seniorjournalist #seniorjournalistreporter

reading the news, broadcasting the trafffic, presenting commercial radio programmes - and overseeing weekends on Newsbeat. My key tips were: don’t let anyone put you in a box, network, say yes to all and any opportunities and if there is no opportunity, just do it yourself!

(I even bought and read his book!) Proud to be a part of the fab panel sharing my experiences of investigative journalism, presenting and producing World Service programmes, reporting for radio, TV and online in regions, making documentaries…

It was an absolute privilege to be part of a media panel yesterday at the University I fell in love with media at, The University of Manchester. I remember when I was a student there and I attended a similar event, meeting an investigative journalist…
