Today, as we deliver change, we remember politics is about choices. We choose a better life for our children, the Tories and Reform choose to condemn them to poverty. inews.co.uk/news/politics/…

Labour is guided by the interests of Britain and the British people. And we are clear: those interests require close partnership with our allies.

When I married in 1981 we both worked & most of our salary went on paying the mortgage as the interest rate was 15% at the time. Everything we owned was 2nd hand & we never went out for meals as we couldn’t afford to. We rented our TV Went to the launderette every weekend as had no washing machine. Only had new clothes at Xmas & birthdays as presents. We went without until we could save enough to pay for something. It’s always been hard whether you are young or old. So those out there that think we had it easy we didn’t. Our governments are to blame, not the old.

I suspect Mayor Khan’s 72-hour silence on the looting and attacks on supermarket staff in Clapham was racially and politically motivated. The shocking crime spree by a 100+ gang of black feral kids came on the Monday, but there was not a peep from him until Thursday. Would he have stayed schtum if those kids had been white? I doubt it, since their parents would not have been his natural voters whereas minority families are. I’m certain ( I used to work there) that had it happened in US cities their mayor would be on spot that very night assuring locals they would be protected. There’s something rotten in the state of London and it starts at the top.

Starmer’s grating buzz words for the gullible: ‘My’ Labour Government’ ‘My’ Dad was a toolmaker’ ‘Smash the gangs’ ‘Change’ ‘Far Right thugs’ ‘Deliver’ ‘Working class’ ‘National interest’ - Latest 🤢 Anymore irritating catch phrases to add to the list?

@miriam_cates Pathetic response. Pot with our name on. We paid contributions with the promise of a pension at the appropriate age. How successive governments chose to squander our money is not the pensioners fault. Provisions must have always been made.

No one has ‘paid into’ the state pension. NI payments are spent by the government of the day, not put into a pot with your name on. Using these terms just perpetuates the myth that the state pension is a contributory scheme. It isn’t. It’s a non-means tested universal benefit paid for by current taxpayers.

🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage formally commits to the state pension triple lock if Reform UK win the next election "The people to whom pensions are being paid, certainly compared to a younger generation today, are those who have actually worked and paid into the system"

“Bored teenagers”?!?! Lawless, immoral thugs in my book. 😡 “Families had to be barricaded inside [shops]…as bored children with nothing better to do during the half-term decided to turn supermarkets into their playground again on Tuesday.” mol.im/a/15697215
