@thejustinwelsh For many solopreneurs, success is about freedom and control rather than maximizing scale.
English

@thejustinwelsh This is a win situation. Making more than your old job while calling the shots.
English

The $10M story gets all the attention. The podcasts. The case studies. The "how I scaled" threads.
But most people aren't broken because they didn't hit $10M. They're broken because they spent ten years in a meeting they didn't need to be in building someone else's number.
Freedom isn't a revenue milestone. It's the Tuesday afternoon you realized nobody can call you in.
That's the win most people are actually chasing. They just didn't have the language for it yet.
English

@thejustinwelsh the goal isn't a bigger business. it's a better life. most coaches hit $10k/month and immediately try to hire, build a team, add programs. they trade the headaches they left for new ones. the whole point was freedom. protect it like it's the product.
English

@thejustinwelsh There can be a lot of security, comfort and satisfaction at a lot of income/revenue levels. If you have something people want, and they seek and find you, its gets even better. Let the residuals flow!!!
English

@thejustinwelsh This is a more realistic goal for most people.
You don’t need a massive business to win.
Replacing your income while gaining control of your time is already a big upgrade.
Freedom often matters more than scale.
English

@thejustinwelsh yeah most people don’t even want $10M
they just want peace and decent money
English

@thejustinwelsh feels like that is the case these days. Making more than their last job and enough to feel good about the monthly check without all the other corporate crap we put up with.
English

@thejustinwelsh Replacing your salary with more control is already a win imo
English

@thejustinwelsh Freedom is the ultimate ROI. Building a lean, automated "1-person powerhouse" is the new status symbol in the agency world.
English

@thejustinwelsh yeah most people aren’t chasing $10M they’re chasing control
English

The part people miss is that "minus the boss, meetings, and headaches" only stays true if you build systems early. Most solopreneurs who clear their old salary end up recreating the same 60 hour week they left, just without the paycheck stability. The ones who keep the freedom are the ones who automated the operations before scaling the revenue. What was the first thing you removed from your own calendar that made the biggest difference?
English

@thejustinwelsh I’m just starting this shift after leaving my last role.
Not chasing $10M just building something that gives me more freedom than a job did. Still early, still messy but I can already see the path.
English

@thejustinwelsh Replacing a 9 to 5 with a 24 by 7 hustle is the biggest trap. The real winners use automation and smart systems to do the heavy lifting. Scaling your tech infrastructure instead of your headcount is the exact blueprint for buying back your time.
English

@thejustinwelsh That is it.
Define your own version of success before someone else defines it for you.
Set clear income goals, simplify the work, and cut everything that does not move you toward the freedom you actually want.
English

@thejustinwelsh Also being creative and much more productive.
English

@thejustinwelsh Success is defined by freedom, not just scale.
Earning more with less friction is a win.
English

@thejustinwelsh Real success is leverage, not hype.
If your solo income beats your job, with less stress and more control, you win.
Focus on skills, distribution, and repeatable systems.
Freedom plus cashflow is the real metric.
English

@thejustinwelsh The ultimate irony of Sovereignty?
Realizing you’ve just replaced a third-party boss for one that’s far more demanding: YOU.
English

@thejustinwelsh the best equity in life is ownership, independence and legacy. No job can give you that.
English

@thejustinwelsh The goal wasn't more money.
The goal was Better:
Better sleep.
Better focus.
Better health.
Better time with family.
English

@thejustinwelsh Replacing your salary on your own terms is already a win most people underestimate.
English

@thejustinwelsh People confuse success with scale. For solopreneurs, success is usually autonomy, not size. Less revenue, more control. That’s real upgrade.
English

@thejustinwelsh The real win isn’t $10M.
It’s waking up without a boss,
earning more than before,
and owning your time.
Freedom > flex.
Would you trade status… for peace?
English

@thejustinwelsh agreed!!! the whole point is to get the freedom to do whatever you want without ay headaches, chasing 10M isn't wrong , but it comes with a lot of sacrifices as well
English

@thejustinwelsh plot twist: you become the boss you hated, schedule meetings with yourself, and the headaches are now called "strategy sessions"
English

@thejustinwelsh 'enough' through a different lens. freedom over scale.
English

@thejustinwelsh And the next level is even better.
Once you clear your old salary, you can optimize for time, not growth.
More sleep. More focus. Less calendar Tetris.. sounds good 😅
English

@thejustinwelsh Living life on their own terms is the real success
English

@thejustinwelsh Justin nailed the freedom piece.
I work with solopreneurs who got there.
The one thing they forgot to build
a system for was their own body.
