March 27, 1836: They were marched from here - thought they were going home. However, Santa Anna had ordered their executions. Remember Goliad!

Good morning, friends! Pic: On 03.22.26, I had the opportunity to represent our Parker family at the Citizen of the Republic of Texas Medallion Ceremony honoring of Elder Daniel Parker (Elkhart, Texas). It coincided with our annual Gingerbread and Coffee Event.

Even though there aren’t many bluebonnets, it’s a beautiful day here at Fort Parker in Limestone County. God Bless Texas!

… that moment when you stop off at the Prairie House Restaurant in Cross Roads, Texas, and discover two things: your cousin’s pic on the wall and a frozen jack & coke drink. Gotta love life!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Pic: This is Mike Dolan, born May 8, 1830 in County Leitrim, Ireland. He sailed to New Orleans in 1854, then made his way San Patricio, Texas. His obit reads in part, “Michael Dolan was a true scion of that brave, fearless and conquering band that emigrated to this country from the Emerald Island in those days before the plow had stirred the fertile soil of this section and years before the iron horse had begun to transform the wilderness into a land of plenty. When they set foot on Texas soil at that historic place known as San Patricio, historic because there lived the settlers of this country who blazed the way for the generations that have followed, this country was unsettled and uncivilized. Indians operated at will, burning the settlers' homes and making away with stock and property, as well as committing other outrages. Michael Dolan was one of a brave band, known as the Texas Rangers, who preserved peace and lives.” He died in 1915 from an accident near his ranch and is buried in Gussettville.
