So I never played Star Fox 64 but always wanted to. I missed the 3DS version and now the Switch 2 version is out and looks incredible. Is Star Fox 64 worth the hype?

@AstroTibs @FFANTASYacc I definitely agree. When games have customization it make them feel way more immersive. However sometimes I do very much enjoy simplicity.

@FFANTASYacc @2_Cha0sEm3ralds It's just a shame that there is so little customization and side quests, gutting replayability. Also some of the graphics just feel like "NES, but better." FF5 delivered in these departments, but it took FOREVER to get any recognition, thanks to skipping the English release!

So Final Fantasy 4 is quickly becoming one of my favorites of the series. I adore a good redemption arc/story. Vegeta, Shadow the Hedgehog, Darth Revan, Kratos in GoW Norse games, and more. I am so excited to see where Cecil's journey takes him.

@Killer_Draco I really enjoyed Frontiers. They story was really good. Lots of fun nods to older games and lore. I call it a vibes game. The fights are cool and combat's not bad but I really liked running around and exploring, just vibing out and seeing the islands. For me it's was 8/10.

I need to give Sonic Frontiers another try sometime. I bounced off it during the second island when I tried it, and just never went back.

@Kazin_Tharin My first I more traditional RPG was Knights of the Old Republic. I know it's a western RPG so definitely different but it showed me that games can really be an amazing medium for storytelling. I'll have to see if I can Google the fan service in 14. Sadly no time for an MMO 🤣

@2_Cha0sEm3ralds Glad you’re enjoying. I played some RPG’s back in the day before this came out but IV was the RPG that made me a fan of them. You should see the IV fanservice in FFXIV, very cool.

@FFANTASYacc Oh her an Cecil are absolutely favorites so far. The way she coming from tragedy to helping save the world so no one has to go what she did? Chef's kiss development.

@2_Cha0sEm3ralds Not gonna do spoilers, but if you farm enough? Eventually (late in the game) Rydia learns Meteor. I always thought it was pretty rad.

@PestisAcerba85 Ya I can tell this would be an excellent starting point. My first one was 13. I know it's a polarizing entry and I get why but I loved it. This is my first older FF. I have played most of the ones 10 and newer. Kinda wish they did the 2DHD route like Dragon Quest.

@2_Cha0sEm3ralds IV is a solid entry of the series. I wished we had a faithful remake of it, using the character models for the opening CG in the DS remake. It's the closest we got to a proper Amano-style art style.

@Killer_Draco I had never played any FF prior to 10 and this one for some reason jumped out at me. Glad I picked it!

@2_Cha0sEm3ralds FF4 is where the series went from good to great. 1-3 were good for their time, but held back by technical limitations. The better hardware of the SNES let them do things with the characters and story of 4 that wouldn't have been possible before.

No question. This has such potential as a series.

I know this he has it's haters but I'm not one of them. I absolutely loved this game. Clive is by far one of my favorite protagonists in gaming and this is currently favorite Final Fantasy. Currently playing Final Fantasy 4 and LOVING it.

And for the millionth time I have completed Ocarina of Time lol. I'm all ready for the remake. Excited to go on with a fresh playthrough in mind and excited to see what they do!

Question Time! What are your hopes for the Ocarina of Time Remake? I am of the camp that I do not want a shot for shot remake. I'd love fully remade Temples. The bosses are iconic so keep them but remix the fight. I don't wanna know exactly how to beat them or the Temple
