It feels surreal that the de factor head of 4chan team, @GrapeApe9k, has so few followers. I guess I should be praising that 4chan gives so little fucks about ecelebs, instead preferring "anonymous" posting, but it still seems so weird to me.

I agree, but it may also be a double edged sword. For example you could work diligently for a year, build a platform yourself, create content and art but have zero clout you are virtually invisible in this space and all the content you created gets submitted into the void. It can be disheartening to say the least, but that's the price of anonymity.
