% of championship fights fought in home country... Ward: 100% Crawford: 95% Shakur: 89% Haney: 70% Maravilla: 13% Kovalev: 12% Pacquiao: 11% Golovkin: 0% Usyk: 0% Lomachenko: 0% Kinda shows you who's privileged enough to be fighting with a stacked deck and who isn't.

Did you know Mario Barrios and his older sister got taken away by child protective services when they were babies? Both his sister and Barrios grew up with his grandmother after his dad and mother were incarcerated (Mother got exonerated). Headline story was Mario Barrio’s father was abusive when he drank alcohol and the family were scared of him… One of those times Mario Sr. took it out on Barrio’s one year old sister that was older than him. She ended up passing away from a lacerated heart caused by an impact blow. Her name was Esperanza, translates to Hope. Both Barrios and his sister Selina started boxing as kids as an outlet for everything they were going through… He described Selina, his older sister as the female Mike Tyson! She was a savage! I grew up in an abusive home too and I was scared of my dad… Barrios story hits close to home and I can’t help but to root for him tonight against Ryan Garcia! Hope he wins! #BarriosGarcia #TeamBarrios #Boxing #Sports #Ring

ZUFFA is going to have to answer a real question soon. Boxing has always been culture, color, tradition and celebration. The trunks. The belts. The sponsors. Fans connect to fighter identity. Not uniforms. Once you mute the palette, you lose the emotion that built the sport.
