Congratulations to @KalebMenard8 and @AmanteMartin2 on winning the Willie Ray Smith Award for 2026. Both had outstanding seasons. Congrats to all the nominees and finalists as well, yall are all prime examples of the depth of athletes we have in our little corner of Texas.

Visiting with my granny just a few minutes ago. She’s patiently waiting for evening news with @12NewsNow. Got to talking about her favorite anchors… turns out a huge fan of @Pepper20021 . She said she always looks forward to seeing what blazer and shirt combo he’ll be wearing 😂

For a lot of our local districts, I like the new moves. The district with Newton, Hardin, Woodville is going to be absolute must watch football. 4A-D2 region 3 looks so much different.

Realignment day is here: -HJ moves back ‘home’ to a district with Silsbee, HF, and WOS. -Hardin moves into 3A-D2 with Newton and Woodville. -Ned and PNG have new district opponents. -Barbers Hill makes their big move to 6A. How are we feeling? Thoughts?

The past few months have been something. Dad needs a liver transplant and Mom needs hip replacements. Both having a hard time right now.
If you’re the praying type, I’d appreciate them, that their timeline for getting their surgeries gets moved up!

This day 20 years ago SETX Sports was founded. Since then we’ve shared a lot of local sports info, seen our share of trash talk on our forums, and broadcasted our share of local HS sports.

Sitting back, thinking about 2025 SETX HSFB
-We saw WOS, PAM, and Newton go to state semi finals. Almost had 3 teams at State.
-BISD football is making a comeback.
-Hardin Hornets magical season.
And that’s only the highest notes. So proud of our local coaches and players.

Sometimes I forget how deep 6A teams travel. Not sure if it’s CE King or North Shore, but saw a full police escort for almost 10 limo buses heading north on 45 near Madisonville. Wild to see as person that covers 3 & 4A football.
