Y’all really need to chill with this data center propaganda…in a poorer region like this - adding one doubles the counties tax revenue, which means they finally have money to invest in schools and roads. It also brings IT jobs to an area and let’s be honest, Appalachia could use some decent paying tech jobs to spur growth. The downstream effects of forcing in infrastructure upgrades like high speed fiber and telecom upgrades would most-likely never happen here unless a data center was installed. There are for sure areas where a data center can be a net negative but I would imagine this is a good thing for this area
