This is only true in the ER and that’s due to EMTALA. In every other setting a physician has every right to stop seeing a patient. It’s actually shocking how rarely this occurs and that’s a testament to the obligation physicians feel towards their patients.

Interestingly it’s not. It’s entirely ethical and appropriate to discontinue a relationship with a patient you clearly don’t have a therapeutic relationship with.

Everytime I see news from Murang'a I remember @NdirituMuriithi did all this in Laikipia for 5 straight years but people still voted him out because he didn't give handouts.

In murang'a there's a mobile dialysis truck that serves across the county in about 7 facilities - It has enough specialist's. The first patient receives dialysis at 4.30 a.m , 8-10 patient per day , per week . It’s the truck that comes , not patient looking for the truck.

I will not even talk about the referrals we would get with dehydrated babies because lamuria and those other places didn’t have fluids.

@lewis_ngunyi @xysist @NdirituMuriithi During his time I referrered an RTA pt with a GCS 8 to Nakuru from Nyahururu bcoz he needed an ICU and a CT scan. Ambulance had no fuel .Turns out he was a relative to Cs health. He showed up at 2am to ask why I was referring him: I just asked him how many CT scans were there
