Today, our 6th graders were feeling lucky so we decided to play the lottery to help us study for our checkpoint! Students worked together to answer questions. If their group is correct, they get to claim a number & see if it gets chosen at the end of class! @MsHoward_TMS

Today, we are working in groups and using order of operations to determine if any mistakes were made on task cards! Error analysis is making sure these kids are following GEMDAS and identifying common mistakes. @HumbleISD_TMS @MsHoward_TMS @Humble_2ndMath

Two weeks later, these kids had to explain their learning on their first Writing Wednesday activity! Math is a language and it’s crucial that our students are using academic vocabulary to explain their thinking & understanding ☺️ @HumbleISD_TMS @MsHoward_TMS

We started Unit 2 a couple weeks ago with working on wipe books to understand how the rational number Venn Diagram works. We first started by talking about animals and transferred the information to relate with numbers.

In our class, every student has a goal and we’re working hard to achieve them! ⭐️ Look at how many students earned themselves a math star after their 1st test. Can’t wait to see this wall full of stars by the end of the year! 🤩 #MathStars @HumbleISD_TMS @MsHoward_TMS
