Here is the attitude of the police in a nutshell. It explains so much - “Genuinely, there is no better moment for a detective then when you secure a conviction for an offence such as rape, as it is amongst the most abhorrent of all offences and can cause lifelong trauma for those that experience it.“ The conviction is the first priority and the truth isn’t even on the agenda. The words for the damaged men don’t mean much, really, after that.
