Words fail me. Just some of the nails scattered across a field entrance. No idea if this was a personal thing or just someone looking for a laugh #britishfarming
Another farmer looking for harvest help. If you fancy a few months sat on various green tractors in East Lothian please get in touch : Fraser.bain@gmail.com
Some experience and a sense of humour essential
Just been sent this email from @fazendagroup. You have the best lamb in the world on your doorstep and chose not to use it. Nobody should be celebrating something they have shipped from the other side of the world especially when there’s a global climate conference on here
East Lothian is a beautiful place to farm, but the dregs of society like this don’t half ruin it. Huge volume of tyres dumped in my gate and chucked in the verges/pavements for over 2 miles @EastLothPolice@ELCouncil@NFUStweets
Hoping the power of Twitter can help me here. Looking for an old potato/onion harvester for a project. Even leek/carrot kit would do. Basically something old-ish and affordable that has the ability to lift a niche crop out the ground. Open to borrowing, renting or buying
@AlexPeace3 Not a problem!
Keep us posted, be interesting to see what you come up with.
Beds are perhaps a little wide for something like a Superfaun, but maybe an old hoover would do the trick?
Not a lot gets you into a cart from that narrow, maybe some back bending ahead 🥵
@STPEcouk Beds are 4 foot. It doesn’t have to go into a cart. Could just drop on the ground either behind or at the side. I’ve had a few people suggest superfaun but haven’t found any for sale
@AlexPeace3 We've a 1700 Variant with a onion baffle and haulm elevator fitted. Would cover a multitude of root crops. Pics here: stpe.co.uk/images/ToC/Gri…
Plenty of other options on the site to give you some ideas.
Vandalism by dirt bike strikes again. Growing field of Oilseed Rape this time with a good portion now uprooted. Becoming a regular occurrence here, farming right beside Tranent. @EastLothPolice@LothianLoop@NFUStweets@wjtwheatrig
