No matter the outcome in November, Virginia will make history by electing its first woman governor. Former congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (D) and Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears (R) are currently racing for the seat.

Women make up more than half of the U.S. population yet we only account for 28.2% of the seats in Congress.

This #TakeActionTuesday, we're asking you to call your mama! or your sister, your aunt, your favorite cousin... you get the idea. Mother's Day is this week. Check in on the moms in your life. Ask how they're doing. Ask how you can support them. We're not talking about a weak "let me know if I can help!" either. Make a real offer and follow through! 🤝🏾 At the root of all change and advocacy is community so make sure you're showing up for yours. ❤️

The American government works for us! Don't forget it. Call your reps and tell them how you feel about current issues. Tell them your concerns. It is their job to represent you!

Today the Dept. of Education is set to resume student loan collections. Reminder that women hold nearly 2/3 of the nation's 1.6 trillion dollars in student debt (AAUW) and it takes women nearly twice as long to pay back student debt when compared to men (19th News).
