@Aeric_K_Aldheim "Huh? Oh.. yeah. It's delicious." Ian spoke softly, gazing up at Aeric. "I take it that yours is good too?" Ian knew that dwelling on the situation wouldn't do him much good... but he didn't feel as though he could drop it. Not entirely.

@AloftElevar Maybe Aeric was just too much the optimist, but he couldn’t help but think a new wizard would be a /good/ thing for Ian. When their food got to them, they ate in silence for a bit, the only sounds just utensils against plates. “Food’s good, yeah?” he asked, just to break it.

@Aeric_K_Aldheim Ian squeezed Aeric's hand in response. He just needed to make sure that Barley was misinformed; gods, he didn't think he could ever be ready to meet someone like him. Luckily, the waiter returned with their meals, snapping Ian back to reality.

@AloftElevar It made Aeric think they were just repeating the past, Ian keeping things hidden until it came to a head and there was nowhere else to go. He squeezed Ian’s hand tighter, and kissed it again, almost sadly. “I love you, too,” he replied, knowing nothing would ever change that.

Yawns.

@Aeric_K_Aldheim Ian gave Aeric a small smile. He wouldn't be surprised if this was brought up later... but they were done talking about it for now, and that's what mattered. "Hey... I love you."

@AloftElevar Ian didn’t mess up at all, but Aeric couldn’t help but wonder why he felt threatened in the first place when he was the /best/ wizard. “I—okay.” He’d drop it for now, since he had no idea what to say. Aeric just took one of his hands from across the table, kissing it lightly.

Grinning, Ian leaned up to press a gentle kiss to Aeric's cheek. "You're the best-!"

@Aeric_K_Aldheim Ian couldn't hide the disappointment that he was feeling. No matter how he tried to explain his feelings, he felt like he always messed up. "Aeric I-." Shaking his head, Ian let out a sigh. "Just forget I said anything, okay? Let's just try to have a good night..."

@AloftElevar Part of Aeric wanted to shut up and just enjoy the night. The dumber part of him was just louder. “You keep speaking in ‘what ifs,’ but you won’t know anything until you know for sure. Otherwise you’ll just be scaring yourself into something that doesn’t even exist.”
