Working this year on a modern e-commerce plugin for @WordPress aimed at people selling digital products, subscriptions, licenses, services, etc! I’ve always been a fan of @eddwp but it has a lot of backwards compatibility code and bloat now, with a clunky checkout process that isn’t really designed for modern commerce. We have better things now like Stripe Checkout which save reinventing the wheel and provide better security. WooCommerce also suffers from poor admin experience and bad database design. None are really “friendly” or easy to use. Which i think is a factor why people opt for @lemonsqueezy and similar hosted solutions. Because I have the luxury of starting from scratch, I can design with performance, security and scalability in mind. I also can use newer technologies like React for every single screen, REST, etc. Not sure how much “market” is left in WordPress as it’s kinda dying in the water and not really relevant anymore, but if anything it will be a fun project to undertake. I’m already about 50% done 🚀 Drop a like or comment if this something you would be interested in! Or any questions 🧑‍💻

@flowdee I was using Strauss, but apparently Jetpack autoloader is better - check it out on GitHub!

What do you use to prefix vendor files/classes in connection with #WordPress plugin development? Classic PHP Scoper? Or is there something better now?

It's funny how it's anti-capitalists who are so much more obsessed with money than capitalists. They're always focusing on how much money other people have and how they should spend it.

Serum blood markers are not representative of tissue saturation levels or overall metabolic state. Temp and pulse are a more accurate gauges of metabolism, and in most instances (including hair loss) it’s sub optimal. The hypothyroism caused by finasteride is essentially intercellular hypothyroidism. As mentioned, Finasteride is a Frankenstein progestin.

@BerbarianWizard The hypothyroidism starter pack stack… Both TRT and artificial progestins like finsteride down regulate thyroid and stress the adrenals.

I love developing for WordPress and have been for years, but I think we need to be realistic about where things are heading in 2025. The web development landscape is shifting significantly with LLMs and apps changing how people consume content and build online presence. That said, I’m not abandoning it - I’ll keep releasing plugins and tools because I enjoy the craft. But I do think the opportunities for newcomers are more limited than they were 5-10 years ago, and younger devs are gravitating toward different/modern stacks. WordPress still has real value as a content management platform, especially for organizations with complex workflows. But for simpler sites, the traditional CMS + hosting model feels increasingly heavy when AI-assisted alternatives can deliver faster results with less infrastructure and hassle.

WP has 600k+ followers and can’t break 50 likes on release posts. Sad. If I had control of their Twitter account for one post I’d get a minimum of 50k likes. One post could reinvigorate the entire ecosystem. It’s just a matter of focusing on what WP users actually want. Nobody at A8c seems to know.

DHT is a red herring for hair loss; high DHT is usually indicative of adrenal stress response from the things you mentioned (adrenal dysfunction, low thyroid, high prolactin, etc.). Propecia itself is nothing more than a Frankenstein progestin. It works because it has progesterone-like properties but isn’t bioidentical (you can’t patent that and make money). The reason women experience less hair loss is due to a few factors, but mainly the fact they produce more progesterone. Low progesterone (not just serum but intracellular) and nutritional deficiencies, along with low thyroid, are the main causes of hair loss in men. DHT gets “called out” because it “competes” with progesterone at a cellular level.

Yeah, your high DHT is causing your hair loss. You are eating pop tarts, covering your balls in microplastics and have 3 generations' worth of mercury in your system but sure, somehow your body is THAT androgenic. Lack of minerals, calcification, toxin accumulation, poor blood flow, high prolactin, lack of sunlight, poor thyroid function, nonexistent melatonin production, a wrecked gut that makes inflammation 10X worse and stress are definitely not some of the reasons behind it.
