Brethren, our religious traditions often teach us to pray for peace and to stand with the suffering. Yet when we look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or Israel's broader regional involvement (Iran), we see thousands of civilians experiencing profound suffering. How do we hold these things together? Do we continue traditional prayers and support for Israel as a matter of religious doctrine, even when we are witnessing significant civilian harm? Or does our moral responsibility to the suffering require us to re-examine what our prayers and support actually mean? Is there a way to affirm both our religious commitments and our ethical obligations to all people affected by these conflicts? Are these tensions something your religious tradition addresses? And what does moral responsibility look like in situations where the issues are this complicated? Thank you

A friend was attending interviews yesterday. Interviews were scheduled to start at 14:00 with over 40 candidates. Candidates spent the whole afternoon and night yesterday waiting for their turn to be interviewed. Tired, frustrated, hungry & mostly anxious.

Founding President Dr. Sam Nujoma left behind a legacy that will forever shape our nation. For those of us blessed to have spent even just two minutes in his presence, we felt the weight of history and the responsibility he entrusted to us. There can never be enough gratitude for what President Nujoma gave to our country. What inspires me most is that he took on the challenge of leading a newly independent nation with limited governing experience, yet he built something enduring, a solid foundation that every President after him has been able to build upon. That is the mark of true leadership: not just achieving greatness yourself, but creating the conditions for others to succeed. His vision for statecraft and nation-building continues to guide us. We honour him not just through words, but by carrying forward the values and principles he established. The future of Namibia rests on the foundation he laid, and that is his greatest gift to all of us.

Before 1990, Rundu had direct flights straight from Pretoria to Rundu airport. Jonas Savimbi met apartheid South Africa defence minister PW Botha on 18 January 1976 at Rundu airport.

Namibia is a well run country and they know the dangers posed by Starlink outweigh any advantages it may have. As I have previously posted, it is not in the national security interests of any African country to use Starlink.
