Why not have GOAT and the head of GOAT? I think that's a better alternative P.S. I don't necessarily believe the highest achiever should automatically be considered the GOAT. I believe the GOAT should be defined by what a player consistently does on the pitch that everyone recognizes as "extraordinary everyday". That said, Messi isn't leaving much room for misinterpretation or plausible deniability and Ronaldo excellent career has placed him in the GOAT level without world cup.

If GOAT signifies highest achiever, I think that will be Messi. The alternative is to have two GOATs (Messi and Ronaldo). But if there's only one spot... Messi has it. It's only logical. PS: I love both of them and I'm not sympathetic towards any.

But the entire discussion across the timeline was that Messi fans hate Ronaldo more than they love Messi, and would rather see Ronaldo fail to win the World Cup, even if it means Argentina gets knocked out early. I'm sure the writer of the tweet I responded to wouldn't have made that observation in a vacuum, without that ongoing discussion. But hey, let's not argue with the common-sense specialist. Maybe it was just divine intuition that made him suddenly start talking about football loyalty on the eve of Ronaldo's exit.

I don't need to tell grown men on X who is arrogant or humble (might use it in argument, but it's really none of my concerns) All I'm saying is that, for grown men, logic should be the foundation of hate, love, and loyalty. Our logic doesn't have to align, but it should be consistent, linear, and stepwise. My logic is that nobody is more deserving of a World Cup than Ronaldo, and I genuinely want him to win one. At the same time, Ronaldo winning the World Cup wouldn't make him better than Messi, and not winning it wouldn't diminish his place as one of football's top four GOAT.
