VAT REDUCTION BILL Isinusulong sa Senado ang panukalang batas para ibaba ang Value-added Tax (VAT) mula 12% patungong 10%. Layunin ng panukala na makatulong sa pagpapababa ng mga serbisyo at bilihin para mas lumakas ang kakayahan ng mga Pilipino na bumili ng produkto sa merkado. Ayon kay Sen. Erwin Tulfo, mabigat na pasanin para sa mga pamilyang low at middle-income ang mataas na buwis. Sa ngayon, Pilipinas at Indonesia ang may pinakamataas na VAT sa Southeast Asia.
