in the past, builders had the chance to make huge amounts of $$ by building something legit in a fair/legitimate way. Think about all of the DeFi 1.0 builders, they're all super rich and built useful things. Those days are mostly long gone IMO. I haven't seen too many of those stories from builders other than Jeff from HL. Yes, protocol founders these days actually get pretty rich by doing some crime and dumping their ecosystem tokens onto retail. But if you're not willing to do that and want to do things 'the right way', it's going to be 1000x harder and probably not going to happen.
