@surf4children Do you think this is true with every viral outbreak or is it unique to COVID? Meaning, when there is an RSV or influenza surge, does this have the same effect? Might suggest generic immune activation versus a unique SARS-CoV2 effect

anyone having insights on weather vaccinating a child (that never had influenza A infection) for flu now would give some sort of protection against H5N1, having to plan a trip in california (and being sure H5N1) will become global?

@giocastellucci Interesting. Given prior (adult) ICU studies suggesting that 48 hours cEEG may still only identify 90% of those whose unexplained encephalopathy was from seizures, do you think that their median cEEG time was actually adequate in this study?

A retro obs study of 605 cEEGs in #Peds CVICU found that EEGs initiated due to both vital sign changes + clinical signs & symptoms were more likely to detect seizures, while those prompted only by vital signs changes detected 0 seizures #Neurology #Epilepsy #ICU
