@brockpierson here are the 3 most common hotdogs you'll find at 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson in Japan, but I like the one you're holding 😉

This is important, so I’m writing it down.
I am Japanese.
When I go to another country, I enter only with that country’s permission.
That permission is, in fact, me being granted a privilege.
If I break the rules of that country, that privilege will be revoked.
This is completely obvious and natural.
It is not a human rights issue.😑

2023: AI will replace junior devs
2024: AI will replace senior devs
2025: AI will replace CTOs
2026: The CTO is the AI
2027: The CEO bows to the AI overlord.
2028: Companies? Nah, AI collectives run the show.
2029: AI invents its own jobs (and vacations).
2030: Humans ask AI for permission to code. 😏

@AlperenAkkuncu @krexillo @CryptoCyberia @LGcommaI "The pace of AI makes everythin too stressful." — Man, I relate to your words 200%.

@krexillo @CryptoCyberia @LGcommaI I am hoping that happens soon.

Apparently, there is new hardware that can run LLMs much, much faster. It can easily give you over 15,000 tokens per second, which is stupidly fast.
From what I understand, it's 'hard-coded,' meaning that you can't change the weights or anything; the chip itself can only run the model from the day it's manufactured, forever.
Interesting concept.

It's only been about 5 days since Seedance 2.0 went crazy viral.
Since then:
→ Disney sent a cease-and-desist
→ Paramount sent a cease-and-desist
→ MPAA accused ByteDance of "unauthorized use of US copyrighted works on a massive scale"
→ SAG-AFTRA called it "blatant infringement"
NOW ByteDance just announced they're adding safeguards
The tool was so good it united all of Hollywood against it in less than a week.
Meanwhile, Disney has a paid licensing deal with OpenAI to put Marvel and Star Wars characters in Sora.
It was never about protecting art. It's about who gets paid.

Min Choi@minchoi
It's happening. The MPA just told ByteDance to "immediately cease" Seedance 2.0, calling it "massive copyright infringement." I've been posting Seedance clips all week. The Tom Cruise x Brad Pitt rooftop fight alone has millions of views. Deadpool writer Rhett Reese: "It's likely over for us." But we've seen this movie before. The MPA said the exact same thing about Sora. Then Disney licensed 200 characters to OpenAI. Hollywood's playbook: panic → sue → license → profit. Problem: ByteDance isn't OpenAI. China doesn't take the meeting.
