An 86-mph fastball down the middle looks 86 mph. If it’s inside, it looks 92 to the hitter’s eyes. If it’s away, it looks 80. Pitchers need to live outside that 12-mph spread to keep hitters off-balance. Keep that in mind while watching #MLB pitchers! bit.ly/31jVW48

1st off, I could watch the camera view all day. What can we learn here? We talk about this a lot in our coach training. "Make sure the bottom hand can always see the ball." Don't load hands too far behind your body where they are cut off and you have to spin to get to contact.

The kid signed his first HR ball and gave it to his grandpa, who thought him everything about the game. Grab some Kleenex

How often have we talked to our outfielders about getting a good jump, overcoming inertia by being on the move before the ball is hit? IMO the best outfielders have “makeup closing speed” & take positive 1st steps to the ball. For that reason it’s probably better to get more ball

flight information before you move. Start your movement later verses earlier. How often have you seen outfielders break back(false step)on big swings only to have the ball fall in front of them?

A big piece of this outstanding catch by the Yankees Harrison Bader is the roll after the catch. It keeps your elbows from hitting the ground which can jar the ball loose.

TREA TURNER WITH DIRECTIONAL DROP STEP STEAL Regardless of what you teach or drill, this is the way the body organizes itself to get from point A to point B in the fastest manner.

Trout - Backside - Low & in slider • Working under front shoulder, not around it. Allows most to feel closed & work inside
