@notnolannn That was the problem I had with the episode. She wasn’t shown doing anything. There should have been a contrast. Or at the least her looking at “Celina’s” rings and pointing to the same one Tim is picking out.

Imagine Lucy just completely oblivious, taking Kojo for a walk, scrolling cliptok in bed before taking an early night, all while Tim is spilling out his love for her and choosing what ring to ask her to marry him

@BringACoffee I totally agree that the last few episodes have been disappointing and personally I feel that BOTH Tim and Lucy have been completely shortchanged as characters for this season as a whole! Their lack of screen time together has really frustrated me honestly

I wonder if we’ll ever find out what Tim does for Lucy. What does she get out of all this? I’m seriously asking. Unless I’m forgetting, have we ever heard her point of view? #therookie #chenford

@246northlanes The editing is horrendous this season. Plus I think entire scenes of theirs were cut in ep 13&14. Not just dads to baileys voice but entire scenes

@BringACoffee He was super hot. But him being in the season where chenford as a ship were absolute perfection (and i mean perfection) had me shipping both LMAO. But I agree sadly. Why do their scenes keep getting cut so abruptly?

@timandlucylover I haven’t liked the last bunch of episodes. And while obviously Lucy can’t be involved knowing about the proposal right now, it bothers me that they can’t give her something else important to do since 8x11.

@timandlucylover I like Chenford. I love the chemistry between the actors. I think the writing for them leaves little to be desired as a Lucy fan first. She gets the short end of the stick when it comes to point of view. I can’t be more clear than that 🤷‍♀️

@246northlanes If emmet stuck around and wasn’t an ass I might have not even gotten on the Chenford train 😂 he’s hot. It’s def the chemistry of Mel and Eric that keeps me cuz the writing is ass most of the time. But it seems that any good scenes together are few and far between lately

@BringACoffee I wanted that too, like so badly. I was rooting for Emmett to come back lol. But ofc these writers can’t have her do that otherwise it will break poor bradford’s heart 😒 as much as I rant, I can’t seem to let go of them. The chem of those two pull me back in unfortunately 🫠

@246northlanes But also I wanted Lucy to date other people right in front of him. But I also come from a less boring generation of tv drama. Tbh this show is a little too vanilla for me but I liked the chem of the two of them so I stuck with it. Kinda wish now I hadn’t

@246northlanes I didn’t love the entire season but if you’re gonna give me surface level stories out of thin air , might as well make them sexy. Well, as sexy as the rookie and Mel and Eric are gonna allow….

@BringACoffee I just feel really bad for Lucy. like Melissa said at the con, when the bridle party comes to her, she can only see the Bradford side. she lost her best friend, they let her cut her parents off, and Tamara is no longer around...

@neverland5617 This show has a bad habit with Tim where he really only shows his feelings when it’s a milestone ep. Like a breakup, reunion, proposals. For Lucy we see even less. Her rant to Grey after break up was one of the few times. Grey should’ve been shown finding out about proposal too

@BringACoffee Tim, ofc he is lovable, but even he sometimes seems not to care that much about Lucy's feelings. I can only say it's a relief this is just fiction, and that Melissa is such a great actress. In real life, I'd feel really sorry for any woman in a situation like that.

@246northlanes I don’t think either dislike it so much as want their characters to do more than just be in “Chenford”. The diff is Chenford benefits Tim (and Eric storywise) more. I’m the first one to say she was way too nice to him too fast. But can still enjoy some of the fun it provided.

@BringACoffee Which is why i said in a previous tweet that i feel like after the whole breakup, she has not been fond of chenford as a ship, lol. She lowkey made an indirect dig at tim when some fan asked her a question about caleb during one of the recent cons.

@246northlanes It’s funny cuz while I loved 7x12 but I think the real reason Mel was not keen on it was not because Lucy was horny but because she was still pissed that Lucy didn’t stay mad at him longer. Just like how she said she didn’t understand why she was nice to him in 7x1 already.

@BringACoffee Never heard of it because ‘chenford’ has always been about how lucy loves all of tim’s flaws, how she’s changed his life for the better, and how happy she makes him. God forbid they have him talking about how he loves her and how dull his life would be without her 😒

I was happy they killed off Monica until I was reminded they only kill female villains. Now I’m more miserable than I was before. But still glad at least one guest star airtime waster is gone. #therookie

@neverland5617 There is so much going on in the episode, I’d be surprised if it happens in the finale. But if it does it will definitely be half assed. The way things are going Lucy will show up for 30 secs of the episode

@BringACoffee I feel the same way...I fear Lucy's going to end up with just a 1min proposal scene, quick question, quick answer. it's hard for me to get excited if a touching moment gets rushed. what makes a proposal memorable shud be the buildup, the emotion, and the sincerity behind it🤷🏻‍♀️

I hate this show so much. Lucy couldn’t even get a scene in the final act during an episode with a storyline that SHOULD include her. Once again she disappears with 15 minutes left. That’s almost every episode since 8x11 #therookie

@neverland5617 Yep and in the end she probably just finds the ring and that’s how she gonna propose ..end of episode. The upside is it will make it easy to wait 8 months for next season

@BringACoffee same here. and in the promo Tim brings the ring to the station and shows it to Nolan...who does that before a proposal? Angela even says the whole station knows he's about to propose😵‍💫they’ve turned what should’ve been a warm, intimate, private moment into a complete circus...

Almost halfway through the ep and the proposal storyline has been about 1.5 mins. After reading tweets during Canadian airing you would of thought it was the bulk of the episode #TheRookie
