As his campaign pointed out, Rom Reddy, who said he won't participate in the SC GOP debates which have a minimum donor threshold, suggested another format.
Large venues in major state hubs, allow citizens to ask questions w/no restrictions, and mingle with the candidates

The debates the way they are structured are a joke. Candidates have to take donations to qualify, citizens have to buy expensive tables and may need connections even for that, questions are managed and handled by the elites. Thats why no one watches. 400,000 people vote in the primaries and other than the elites, maybe 8 real citizens watch these things It’s a clown show while the ruling class ignores what they have done- unreal taxes matched by a spending philosophy that bows to one word “more”. Our education system is a disgrace, our roads are awful and our median family income is bottom 10. The sad part is we are a great state and we are hungry for greatness that the ruling class is incapable of giving us. So here is a suggestion for debates. Let’s get some nice big venues around the major hubs in the state. Let’s invite people for free. I will supply the beer. Let’s turn the questions over to the citizens. No restrictions on questions. Let’s have some food and music after and mingle with the voters. That is my idea of a debate that is citizen centric. What say you guys? Let’s start tearing down these artificial walls.
