Thoughts on the other guys who have a great chance of winning that I didn’t bet. Starting with Scottie - I don’t think he’s winning a major this year. I thought The Masters and the PGA were his 2 best chances at a major and he didn’t get one of them. When things are out of his control (think 2024 US Open at Pinehurst), Scottie tends to unravel a bit. Now does that mean I think Scottie is dead at Shinny? Absolutely not. He’s still the best player in the world by far but I’m not nearly as concerned about him as I was at Aronimink. I think Scottie completes the career grand slam next year at Pebble. I do not like this setup for Rory at all at Shinny. Rory has been incredibly inaccurate off the tee all year. He was able to get away with it at The Masters and the PGA (mainly at Augusta). He won’t be able to get away with it at Shinny as the missed fairway penalty is so severe. This is why he hasn’t won at The Memorial. He even said it himself that it neutralizes his biggest weapon. If he fixes this problem in the next couple weeks - then he’s obviously very dangerous as he’s the clear cut 2nd best player with a great US Open track record over the last 10 years. Rahm was very impressive at the PGA and I think he is very live to win another major soon. I didn’t really care that much what he was doing on LIV but he bounced back big at the PGA after a putrid showing at Augusta. He should contend here as he’s still one of the best players on the planet with an extremely well rounded game. Bryson is on a total clown run recently and I’m not concerned about him in the slightest at Shinny. He won’t be able to get away with the bomb and gouge strategy he used at Wingfoot and Pinehurst to win both his majors. I can realistically see Bryson missing his 3rd consecutive cut at a major in a few weeks. Xander is always a threat at majors as he is a top 10 machine at them throughout his career. I think that his game is still not fully there. He will prob finish top 10 but won’t win. Ludvig is going to be very dangerous at Shinny. He’s having the best year of his career and is very due for a huge win. I think either him or Scottie will win this week at The Memorial. This is the most bullish I ever been on Ludvig and I would not be shocked in the slightest if he rips off his first major in a few weeks here. I feel pretty good with everything I got so far with 2 weeks left to add more stuff to the portfolio. The first 2 majors of the year were def not the best for me despite heaving around a 50% EV weighed portfolio for both majors. I made a few units at Augusta all due to the stuff I bet live (every pre tourney bet lost lol) and I got completely wiped out at The PGA (every pre tourney and mostly every live bet lost). It never gets any easier getting rinsed and especially if you do it bet full time like I do. I’m still having a very good season so far though despite struggling at the first 2 majors so that’s all that matters. This week should be a very good preview of what to expect in 2 weeks at the US Open. The Memorial is one of the best tournaments of the year imo as it’s a true test of all around skill. We got a lot of good golf to look forward to over the next couple weeks.
