A time was had in the City of South Fulton last week as we welcomed the EmpowerHER Entrepreneur Summit! The summit - moderated by Atlanta News First anchor, Tracey Hutchins, gave City Council members the chance to speak and guests the opportunity to hear from business leaders.

Severe weather is expected this weekend! The National Weather Service (NWS) and Atlanta Fulton Emergency Management Agency (AFCEMA) have placed South Fulton on alert for possible storms, including hail, strong winds, heavy rains, minor flooding, and even tornadoes.

Atlanta Watershed crews turned off an eight-inch main to make emergency repairs near 420 Fitzgerald Place. Water service has been temporarily interrupted affecting 25 homes, and two hydrants. We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

The Department of Watershed Management crews team turned off a 12-inch main to make emergency repairs near 7205 Hania Drive NW. Water service has been temporarily interrupted, affecting 40 homes, and 3 hydrants. We will provide updates as available and water service is restored.

In response to the upcoming inclement weather, we have decided to close the city administrative offices tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16th. While the physical offices are closed, we want to assure you that work will continue remotely. Emergency personnel will continue to operate.

As the forecast predicts freezing temperatures starting Tuesday evening, we want to ensure the well-being of our community. In response, we are opening a dedicated Warming Station to provide shelter and warmth to those who may be affected by the cold weather.
