The Mentored Scholarly Activity program has selected Dr. Sarah Gitomer for the 2026 Mentor of the Year Award. This award is based on student nominations, overall contributions to mentoring, and is selected by the MSA Director and Associate Directors. Congratulations, Dr. Gitomer!

We were well represented at the recent CHCO CCS Surgical Research Symposium this year, which was chaired by Dr. Sarah Gitomer. We had 22 submissions, 14 posters, and 2 oral presentations. Parker Juels, one of our pediatric medical students, won a top poster award.

We are delighted to introduce our 2026–2027 Otolaryngology Intern class. We are excited to have such a talented group joining our program and look forward to the energy and perspectives they will bring to the department.

We had strong representation at the recent annual SENTAC conference. Congratulations to Drs. Kenny Chan and Taylor Jamil on their awards, and to Dr. Soham Roy for finishing up his year of presidency.

Several members of our department came together in Washington, D.C. for the recent SUO/AADO Combined Meeting.

Marie Jetté, PhD, CCC-SLP, recently attended ASHA’s Capitol Hill Day. She met with several of our state’s lawmakers to advocate for issues central to our professions.
