True, but this game is just a money grab full stop. I'll give Fortnite credit where credit is due - they at LEAST try, with different game modes and such.
This game's "battle pass" is $10 for 20 days and constant roadblocks for progress pushing you towards just spending a dollar here and there to progress, otherwise you just eat more time.

Just has the normal gimmick of trying to push you to spend any amount of money. Like hey, you’ve got a decent car, but you can only use it 5 times (gas that refills over time). And to unlock new cars you need to win, pull (from packs), or buy blueprints, so it’ll be like 45 blueprints to unlock x car. It was just annoying more than anything tbh. Game Pass perks helped but didn’t help enough for me to enjoy it

@Diablo Hey, it seems like the achievements for exploring all of Skovos and kill 1,000 elites in Torment 12 may be bugged and not unlocking. Can you look into this? @Blizzard_Ent @Diablo

@Sonnie_Slim @GernaderJake Torment 12 shouldn’t be too bad, it seems like it’s the equivalent of Tier 100 Pit as that’s what’s used to unlock it
I was able to run (at a push) Tier 130 on my Paragon 300 Sorc

Whenever someone asks me what the hardest game I’ve ever completed is, I always say Need for Speed 2015 and it’s so rare that people know why
Most of the time they say they got the Platinum and it wasn’t difficult, not knowing that they released one of the most torturous achievements ever conceived in a later update which wasn’t part of the Platinum, which was for getting a gold medal in the prestige version of every racing and drift event..
There was only one car that could possibly get gold, the Huracan for Drift and Porsche RSR for Racing, even then with the most Meta tune on your car driving absolutely perfectly you could only get Gold by milliseconds
I’d spend multiple evenings after work trying to get Gold on one race sometimes 😭 keep in mind there was 41 of them to do
Pretty sure there’s only 100 or so people on TrueAchievements who have this game 100% for this reason

I put a pretty substantial amount of time into Marathon during the first month, I haven’t played it much recently, partly due to being on vacation, Hades 2, Pragmata, Mouse PI, theres many other awesome games out at the moment.
I do hop on to buy the new skins from the store though as I do support Marathon, even if I don’t play as much.
That being said, there is a bug with the matchmaking at the moment which is filtering players into less populated regions, pair that with level based matchmaking, it probably feels pseudo-sbmm when you can only find other streamers and sweats.
You also have to think about the damage that the m77+goo gun did to Cryo, I for one refuse to invest the limited time I have on this planet into grinding for hours for purples and golds, just to have that time taken away by someone abusing exploits that kill me instantly, that’s just a complete waste of my time, not interested.
Impressions matter, and bugs/exploits can leave lasting impressions especially on the casual player base who believe it or not, a lot of them don’t even read patch notes or use social media, are those players liable to just relax in the sponsored kit playlist?
It’s an extraction shooter you win and lose gear all of the time, but it’s people’s time at stake at the end of the day and that’s one thing you can’t get back

I love and play Marathon more than most that I know, however this week has really burnt me out. Should things not improve Tuesday I feel I'm left with the painful decision to stop putting in as much playtime. I understand there is a bug that is contributing to this, however I fear that Level-Based Matchmaking in combination with the Free Kit Queue is resulting in what feels like incredibly small player pools. Whether its Cryo or Marsh, I'm constantly matchmaking names I know. Things are no longer unpredictable, there isn't any more excitement to the unknown. Queue times are long and drawn out. Some players queuing in with pre-made teams. I'm often faced with full end-game top teams repeatedly, regardless of if I'm loading in with Green reinforced shields for an eco run (I frequently use credits/armory builds), or a Gold loadout. I'm frequently running into familiar faces that b/c we can see its them (no streamer mode/anonymity), play differently or are all inclined to be friendly out of respect - I'm sure many players (myself included) play differently based on names they might see. This is dismantling my enjoyment of high highs and low lows, and hindering the gameplay loop for me. I'm someone who doesn't burn out of what I love - and I've been having such a phenomenal time with the community. However its hard not to get exhausted and worn out with this experience, especially with some folks skewing my words back at me about it.

@CameTooFast also meant to say you can do alot of the stumble guy level based achievements by just setting up custom games as well only ones i got left is the daily free spins related a few cosmetics and 1 party up based achievements that should be easy to get.

@CameTooFast might want to look at doing super animal royale,stumble guys and faast penguin all f2p games but seem super easy to do. started 2 of them already and flew through a good amount of achievements
