I have plenty lined up soon that I can’t wait to share, but I’ll let the horn run out on this game and enjoy the end of the season first.

Now it would seem this is the end of my hoops season. And what a season it was. Starting with directing the literal first game of the year, to seeing the four finalists off to the Big South Championships it’s been a unique ride.

The Big South is, by their admission, where winners are made. I don’t know if I’m a winner, but I’m extremely lucky.

As a proponent of public radio and television it was an honor to be a part of the programming, even if just briefly. While I hope we can come back next year and do it again, it’s never too late to support your public broadcaster. pbs.org/about/about-pb…

Last weekend marked the end of the package with SCETV and the SoCon, this time in the hills of Greenville, SC at Furman University. As it goes, you hit your stride just as you’re getting to the end. The last two truly were shows to be proud of and a show of its capabilities.

Basketball season is nearing an end, and that means diamond season’s here! Last weekend saw me start my diamond calendar hopping behind the switcher to produce and direct Army at The Citadel. Trading in rim clanks for bat pings is common this time of year, let’s see where we go!

Thanks to Lucas Ferreira for helping assemble a Charleston Avengers crew of some of the best and favorites. And thanks to all who watched a really good broadcast. On to the final week and Furman, as the women’s team take on the Wofford Terriers this Saturday at 2pm.

And we put on the best broadcast to date. While there’s always room for improvement, always, a chance to put on the show I know is possible from this unique package in my back yard was something that had to be nailed. And the crew nailed it.

Home court advantage isn’t just for the players. Sometimes you can really roll with your crew and put on a show to try to impress. Saturday I had the chance with The Citadel taking on Chattanooga. The third week of the SoCon on SCETV was a home game.

And the sooner and smoother you do that, the smoother your show will be while you feel like Troy from Community walking in to the burning room with pizza. Because at the end of the day you’re still putting on a show. And you still have pizza. And that’s still pretty cool.

f you watch back and don’t know what’s wrong, you won’t notice much off. And that’s a testament to everyone in their places doing their jobs well while fires raged in the background. There’s no one to blame. There’s nothing you can do. Except adapt.

A few months ago I was asked to be a part of a new initiative as SCETV rolled out a package of SoCon basketball games every Saturday in February. We started the last Saturday at Wofford in Spartanburg as the Terriers took on the Western Carolina Catamounts in men’s basketball.
