We saw him do this twice in the playoffs. The challenge for Caleb isn’t the incredible .. it’s the routine. His completion % actually dropped last season to 58.1 from 62.5 his rookie year. Ben Johnson said the expectation is around 70%

No. Because the Bears offense is predicated on pushing the ball down field. They are already a top 10 offense even with the 58% comp. When you’re not throwing very many passes behind the line scrimmage, it’s going to be hard to get to a 70% completion percentage. The only thing needed for a QB to be good is if the passing game he is helming works and last year, even at 58%, it did.

@wingoz With the way he does these things and the way the Bears push the ball down the field, if Caleb actually makes it to 70% completion percentage, the Bears are going to score over 40 points per game. It’s an absurd goal and one that doesn’t work with the way he plays.

Packers have become the ONLY team in the entire 2026 draft to spend a pick on a kicker, taking Trey Smack in Round 6.
Smack has a cannon for a leg, sure, but with bigger needs everywhere else, using Pick 216 on a kicker feels like peak “what are we doing?” energy.
