I got my start at Westlake Golf Course. It was a great place to learn about the swing and exchange ideas. This story from my friend @PGATOURSMartin captures its ethos perfectly. pgatour.com/news/2020/02/1…
Why do we have engineering consultants like @ComoCoaching ? Because they ask great questions that make us think about things in a different way. Case in point today here’s an image of the club head and hand trace of a player from straight above in our ENSO system
There is a tendency with sports statistics to track what is easiest to track, rather than what’s most meaningful. Football is particularly bad for this. Passing %, number of tackles, number of saves. Golf took a massive leap forward with strokes gained.
This chart shows how much initial direction is dictated by face (loft) in vertical plane. X axis is spin loft. 1 would be all face. 0 is all path. Driver 83%, 7 iron 81%, wedge 72% ISEA2018
There are few sights in sport more fun to watch than @McIlroyRory in full form. Combines some of the dominance of Tiger with infectious enthusiasm like Phil.
@GarretKramer Since we don't really know if we can or cant choose happiness isn't it better "choose" it? If we can't then it doesn't matter anyway if we can we haven't missed an opportunity to be proactive with our happiness
Love this from GOAT: Question to Bill Belichick: "With all you have accomplished in your coaching career, what is left that you still want to accomplish?"
Belichick's answer: "I'd like to go out and have a good practice today. That would be at the top of the list right now."
