That's because I care about their results.
Earlier in my career I did just that what you say - I got a client, they had no clue what they were doing, and I just delivered the videos they thought they needed.
Not only it ended very quickly (their business idea fell apart and they just gave up completely and closed business) but also those were so much pain to create, not only because it wasn't clear what we were actually doing, but also because I knew that wouldn't bring them significant results.
Later I found out the guy met the other "business partner" on tinder, and wanted to be with her, she rejected him and this business was a way to try to get closer with her.
That's why it's important to get to know their rough plan , not only because you can actually know how to get them the results they want, but also to know if you even want to work with them in the first place.

doesn’t matter nor is it our business how they plan to make money off the vids. it’s always the biggest egos making the least sense 💀

Potential client messaged me and... I rejected him the only thing he's concerned about is "how do I spend the least amount of money?" all while having horrible strategy and no clue what he actually needs... and he's literally talking with a person who has track record of helping large creators achieve consistent hundreds of thousands views and tens of thousands of sales... yet he considers talking strategy with him pointless... I can't help those who don't let me
