@mattstat7160 @NovaWostra copper rails would be a way to bring down the cost and if combined with the experiments would make for a very nice mid-game transportation method i think. sad thing is that copper rails aren't very realistic

@NovaWostra i mean if you do cool but i don't think I want to be pushed into making an iron farm, gold farm *and* mine tons of redstone just to cover any reasonable distance w/ minecarts... when an Elytra exists at least the sulphur slime could have *kind of* fit mid-game

No clue why everyone is so upset about mojang fixing the zipline monorail slime thing. it was just the minecart reinvented anyway and possible before without sulfur cubes.

@NovaWostra i never had an issue with the speed, minecart monorails are cool, but experiments aren't vanilla yet so it's just not the same

@ImpulseOnyx Not at all? Your version of the spear only needs enchanting once and no continuous effort which is the limiting factor these systems need. It's good the elytra requires fireworks and it's good the spear requires food

@CreatureM0ding by this logic the enchantment is gated behind actively engaging with the game to the point you get enough diamonds to make an enchantment table, "engaging with the crafting system" to make the spear, the books and the bookshelves, and spending the points to roll the right enchant

playing minecraft, a sandbox game: "this emergent gameplay is too OP!! it will definitely get removed!!!" genuinely what would they even remove about this. these are systems working together in the way they should.

@ImpulseOnyx There's a difference between a limitless movement speed up and transport that depletes your resources. Maybe an elytra wouldn't be fair in this situation, but at least it's gated by your willingness to farm fireworks and engage with the crafting system

@CreatureM0ding you know what would also not be fair? getting chased by griefers using elytra with fireworks to speed after you, or getting chased by people using swiftness potions in full netherite armor? maybe they should remove all of these things as well since thats not fair

@ImpulseOnyx Engaging with the world through its core mechanics allows every other mechanic to flourish. It's cool to see blocks other have placed, it tells me that cave has already been explored. It's just the better design choice I think. If you want fun movement, maybe play ultrakill

@CreatureM0ding exploration? you know how good having a dash would be for getting across the world? making long jumps over gaps or manuvering around caves. you can get horses basically from the start, you're limited to unlocking enchanting first to get this, its just a progression upgrade

@ImpulseOnyx imagine if steve would constantly use the spear with a lunge enchantment to get to places in his base. that's not minecraft anymore. i'm sure you're smart, you can come up with way more creative travel methods than that
