Yeah, unfortunately. Though I suspect the reason it gets poo-pooed on on the internet is because of autistic people. Generally speaking, we don't like it. I'm an exception because one of my oldest special interests is human behavior, and I find it absolutely fascinating how people can talk about nothing for three hours straight. It's also how people figure out what else to talk about. I'm not sure how that mechanic works, but I know it's there. Which means small talk is oddly important to conversation despite how inane it tends to be.

So, a lot of you are miserable because you won’t make a basic effort to be socially presentable. You think it’s beneath you to engage in small talk or show interest in the lives of others. Your refusal to be kind and attentive is a moral failing, and it will keep you lonely.

@BlackDumpling @MsMelChen Technically they are hiding it. It's only obvious to people that know what to look for and are not trying to pretend that everything's all hunky-dory. You'd be surprised what you can hide from people with a sheet of paper when they just don't want to look.
