@Yumeka36 @GulcinYalcin12 Technically the "sacrifice my family" part is fine insofar as it shows up in the JP text. The issue is that putting those short phrases at the very end of a stream of consciousness like this makes it seem like a concluding/strong/main thought, which it clearly isn't meant to be.

@GulcinYalcin12 Yeah, I know the text is supposed to be scrambled, but it's was a poor choice to place "sacrifice" and then "my family" right after. The words are not next to each other in the Japanese text.

I was just about to write an article about this. But you already mentioned it. The English translation says "sacrifice my family," but the original says "sacrifice himself." I don't understand why the translators at Manga Plus make such obvious mistakes.

@Yumeka36 There's the mainline (correctly vertical) thought of sacrificing himself/his own safety and the intruding sideline (horizontal, fragmented) thought of sacrificing his family('s safety). Great visualisation of internal turmoil. It's up to the reader to decide the roles of those.

Just to clear something up in new #SPY_Family chapter, in Twilight's thought panel in the JP version, he specifically says "sacrifice himself" (自分を) which is omitted in the English translation.

@curehibiki01 As a non-cure person, I can understand why. Out of those, Coral feels very straightforward and honest, without a hook to trap you attention. Not an issue with the movement/animation though, which looks great. I'd wager it's a conceptual thing with the instalment/series theme.

Fun fact: Arcana Shadow's transformation is animated by Takano Tooru, same person who did Coral, Finale and Majesty's transformations. And I know many people in the western fandom at least don't like Coral's transformation. #precure

@jlhabitan @AmiPik1118 Not really. Hardsubs are rare nowadays and soft subs easily allow multi-layer text that can be turned on and off freely. Netflix's default approach just fails to take advantage of the technological possibilities.

@AmiPik1118 Fansubs don't have an issue with this because fansubtitlers hard-burn those text into the episodes (a.k.a. it's there so you can't turn it on and off), hence you can clutter da screen w/ translations of every Japanese text you see appearing a the same time on top of the dialogue.

Trying to watch Komi Can't Communicate for the first time, but Netflix decided that the text boxes (there's alot that show up) aren't important to translate for the girl who has to communicate with text. Having to go to fan subs just to not miss out on dialogue/context

@MlSERYEMPIRE @genshintensai The chart shows number of banners. If you got fooled by the auto translation which uses "rerun" for no reason, that's more on you than the maker of the chart. On the other hand, Alhaitham got assassinated by Sucrose...

@McKanime @Namaryuu They knew what they were doing when announcing the movie alongside S2 ep1 so that the final setup wasn't a mean surprise. Onto the movie.

@Namaryuu Only knock is that its too short and the last few episodes are effectively a lead in to the movie. But damn there were some good and tender moments.

Medalist season 2 has somehow managed to exceed expectations even further. The CG performances had a noticeable improvement. The direction felt more impactful and we even got some impressive 2D dances! Congrats to the staff and all involved! Can't wait for the movie next year.

@tox1c3ve The mechanism is the reverse. The core audience watches quickly and rates highly. People who would not normally be interested trickle in through ratings and word of mouth and rate more harshly.

@7starsmessenger Taiji just means getting rid of sth. In the context of bugs, extermination works fine. In a different context, even "drive sb away" meets the definition. There isn't a correct answer. And the touhou world is intentionally half-stated, so you're supposed to choose your take.

Friend who is fluent in Japanese told me that the term translated as "youkai extermination" in English Touhou translation is actually something like "youkai exorcism", and I wonder how different the perception of Reimu would be if the OG's had gone with that term instead.

@thenitvanished @D0TT0R3 The Arannaras recognised Paimon as something akin to a balloon with it's strings extending to the sky, iirc. It's brought up every now and then but nobody forces the issue.

@NmZyrus @GenshinUniverse Old DPS characters got buffed to the point that they feel around 1.5 years behind top meta. This makes a well-built team capable of clearing appropriate endgame content (not bruteforce). Previously the characters mostly couldn't keep up unless carried by high cons supports etc.
