Well, my son left for the Army today. I remember being in the same position 26 years ago, headed to Ft Benning wondering what it was going to be like. It’s a unique feeling of both pride in the man he has become and concern of a parent that wants their child to be safe. I know he will do well. I know the Army will be a better place for his presence. But right now our house is lonelier because of his absence. But this is the way. This day was always going to come. God has laid this path before him and he is dutifully following it. God speed Luke.
