If you haven’t seen Sora by OpenAI yet you are missing out. This is incredible. Do yourself a favor and check out the third video on their page openai.com/sora

@wagslane I reviewed job postings the other day with engineers looking for jobs and the highest percentage of jobs were in Java (including mid ranged). Why go so hard against one of the areas with the most opportunities?

People have been asking in which order we are tackling new programming language courses. Probably something like this: 1. Go (done) 2. Python (done) 3. C 4. Other languages 5. *heat death of the universe* 6. Java

Definite vs indefinite optimism and pessimism. Do you plan for an unknown future or a planned future and what is your outlook on it. People and businesses are indefinite about their future (both optimistically and pessimistically) and that’s not a good thing

Leadership and being different. Honestly you should be thinking different all the time. In my company we sometimes get too focused on the competition over creativity. It’s wrong

Just finished Zero to One by Peter Thiell and lots of interesting ideas. A couple of my favorite points:

Just read my kid the Sneeches by Dr. Seuss and it should be required reading by all programmers

@nodejs Started this upgrade recently on all our apps. Seems like Lambdas are behind though and Node18 isn’t even supported

Quick and friendly reminder that you might want to begin work on updating to Node.js v18 - it goes LTS in 29 days 👀

@calebporzio I always set Xdebug up and within a month it stops working. The hassle of it never has been worth it.

Preparing examples of Laravel collections vs PHP arrays. Damn, I had forgotten how messy those array_*** methods are. - array_filter returns array as a result VS array_push, array_map, array_walk don't - array_fiter($array, $function) VS array_map($function, $array) Facepalm.
