@MarcLevesqueEco @acoyne Unfortunately, the traditional intellectual conservative movement has been supplanted by the base conservatives that play to rage validation. Until we return to talking about actual ideas vs gotcha soundbites… the LPC will be Canada’s natural ruling party.

Excellent article by @acoyne .These are the questions the CPC should be asking instead of their crap about Carney doing this to enrich his capitalist friends at the expense of the proletariat (oops, I mean « working Canadians ») theglobeandmail.com/gift/fcbddb767…

@MarcLevesqueEco @jenhassum Unfortunately, simple conspiracy theories are where simple minds gravitate. It’s a Law of the Lowest Common Denominator thing.

@jenhassum I worked for TD economics for 10 years and was responsible for the Canadian economic forecast. Never did anyone from the government or bank management try to influence what I produced. As far as the forecast went, I was completely independent. Stop the conspiracy crap.

@stock_guy1 @kinsellawarren Support of Israel and fighting antisemitism far outweigh party support. If you don’t understand how that is or why, don’t worry… it’s ok.

@stock_guy1 @kinsellawarren Perhaps one day you’ll learn that most of us support a party not because we agree with every policy or detail, but because we assess the overall alignment with our beliefs.

@MarcNixon24 It’ not backwards. It’s a type of desk called a Partners Desk. This desk will have drawers on both sides as well as a place for a second person to sit and work across from the other.

For reasons I don't completely understand, @X sends me money every week. And what I've learned is that clicks don't affect the numbers. Engagement does. So, keep hating, haters. You're making me rich.

@kinsellawarren I’m curious on your thoughts about Lewis passing on the federal seat run. My sense is it’s a mistake, although I do recognize the risk of him losing exists.

@Smileyyeg I am not suggesting we just agree. On the contrary. We agree on what we are able accept, oppose where needed and present amendments. Show we are the government in waiting. We tried attack dog style and it failed in the last general. Politics is a nunaced martial art.

@DavidGamero You are not saying that though. You are arguing the CPC should just agree with Carney. Saying he is doing the wrong thing is correct: he is.

@Smileyyeg Simp? No. You oppose, you present an alternate way, sell the message. Acknowledge Carney’s education rather than attack and turn it against him. Set the expectation so he hangs himself in his failure. Calling him badly educated is laughable and not working.

@Smileyyeg You’re comparing book smarts to street smarts - yes there is a difference. Poilievre is attacking the book smarts. No, this is not more like it. It’s more like a losing strategy. We can’t win government this way.

@RoyceKoop Perhaps that would be relevant if the popular vote was what elected governments. Governments are elected seats won. I would’ve preferred to see Scheer win but he fell short of what mattered.

@bfg900 @dubsndoo Considering that 70% was seen as the minimum needed by most pundits… yes it was meaningful then and now. Equally meaningful are low polling numbers, several floor crossings, and a large decline in support in the last 3 by-elections.

@dubsndoo That’s cute that you really think the 87.4% leadership vote is a meaningful number.

A change in leadership is not a repudiation of Poilievre’s policies and/or ideas. It’s a repudiation of his ability to sell them to the voting public. Find a new leader that can sell it better and win. Nothing wrong with that.

@dubsndoo Actually the Reform Act which the current CPC caucus endorsed does give the re-do and at any time of their choosing.
