CNN reports that a U.S. F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing after it was damaged by "suspected Iranian [anti-aircraft] fire". According to Capt. Tim Hawkins, a spokesperson for CENTCOM, the aircraft landed safely, although he did not mention any Iranian fire.

Has it? Western, or American anyway, hegemony is accelerating at a 19th-century colonialism pace. Russia's air assets look ridiculous compared to what America and Israel are unleashing in Iran. Meanwhile, even if/when Russia takes the Donbass, it will never recoup what it lost to get it, which I wrote about here:

You’re correct that no one won outright but considering that fact that western hegemony has been severely degraded over the past 5 years, an edge must be given to Russia overall.

Islamic Regime in Iran is being thunderstruck tonight. Expect more cogs to be neutralized. Pressure is building. The Straits card was played too soon. Probably shouldn't have been played at all. It revealed to even the most reluctant "allies" that such a significant portion of the world's energy cannot be in the hands of a fickle, despotic government. I expect Iran to lose the Straits, permanently, and then the floodgates open.

The power of the US military is incredible; after hitting 15,000 targets, a plane gets scratched - not destroyed, mind you, but suffers minor damage, and this is viewed as a big "win" for the systems that failed on the other 15,000 strikes. That is power. Hard, awesome power.

Anyone arguing that minor damage to a US aircraft, sustained while lollygagging over hostile airspace is an epoch altering event is arguing the US military is so strong that the mere damaging of one of its weapons is a great feat.
