@ATLiverpool_ Why is Gerrard above rush, Barnes. Sounnes, Dalglish and Rush?? They all won more than him

@A_GymGuy Just incredibly predictable, I would’ve put every penny I have on coming out and saying Champions League qualification is crucial if we don’t get that we won’t spend, but then they’re also okay with basically not getting Champions League qualification as they don’t want to act.

@DeanLJS_ I am waiting until end of season as I don’t believe everything they feed to press but if we keep slot and don’t have CL revenue and they make excuses then the club deserves all the stick

@A_GymGuy It’s things like the pricing increase, the way they use the media to push their agenda or attack players and coaches & basically lie to fans about certain things when they feel like it. Then obviously there’s the whole slot stuff, but that’s just a tip of the iceberg atm

@maxpenman3 Starting on fans speaking up against price increases might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

@AnfieldSector Just like the 2 leagues in 5 years vs 2 in 30. It's either 200m in sales or 450m spent depending on which narrative they need to push

@jfunnell_lfc it means everyone needs to keep up or else they get left behind. Now everyone coming out of college can shoot better than pros did 15 years ago. That’s not even accounting for the sport science and athleticism increases

@DeanLJS_ Back in the day top teams had players that had strong skill sets, a striker for example who might be useless at most things but could finish. These days you have to be able to do everything, hold up, control, run behind, come short, use both feet. Its a different sport.

Just like every other sport in history, football 30+ years ago, is absolutely no where near the level today. The science and data behind it has changed the game, average players from this era would be playing for the top teams 30 years ago, it isn't up for debate. Its FACT.

Just to confirm so that people who aren’t clued up on Cantona’s time at Utd don’t get fooled by this stuff; In 97 you needed 69 points to win the title. Cantona scored 11 goals this season He made the PFA TOTY once in 7 seasonsc during the WORST era in Premier League history

@jfunnell_lfc Yep. It comes overtime with the development of the game which then funnels down into lower levels youth in academies. Again to go back to basketball, it’s like the three-point revolution. Before you had players who couldn’t shoot. Then players push the boundaries and skills and

For there to be protests, there needs to be a critical mass of supporters who are worried, angered, or who simply care about the direction of travel in the game. If too many people are apathetic, think nothing can be done (despite the evidence to the contrary) or worse, go into bat for Boston billionaires who are showing little regard for the culture or community around Liverpool’s support, then nothing will change. A multi-year pricing model is a test. If the overriding response is “ah well”, then Liverpool – and the rest of the Premier League – have effectively been given the green light to fill their boots for the next three years and beyond. And that’s where this leads: a slow but deliberate shift towards pricing out traditional supporters in favour of the highest spenders. It’s £1.2m over a year. It’s not being done because it needs to be done. It’s being done because they believe they can get away with it.
Primai@PrimaiLFC

@robbohuyton That's basically 3 weeks of Salah’s wages. The club reported record revenue of £703m from last season, an extra £1.2m won’t even be noticed in the club’s balance sheet. SOS should organise protests similar to when the supporters left the stadium in the 77th minute in 2016

What are we actually judging forwards on then, if it’s not what they do on the pitch? Mohamed Salah has 281 goal contributions in 310 Premier League games. His total goal contributions in the Premier League for Liverpool (189 goals, 92 assists) is the most any player has for one club in the division’s history. Since 2017 he’s created more chances from open play than anyone else in the league - so it’s not just goals, he creates as well. Salah holds the Premier League record for the most games in which a player has registered both a goal and an assist In 2024-25, he racked up the most goal involvements by a player in a 38-game Premier League season, with 29 goals and 18 assists And he’s scored 16 against Manchester United - more than anyone else he’s faced. So if that’s not IMPACT, what is?
Adam McKola@AdamMcKola

All stats with you nerds. Facts are he isn't anywhere near the level or impact that Cantona, Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo, Keane, etc. had. Fella couldn't defend a title, threw his toys out of the pram because he didn't start a few games and chucked his team under the bus.

Alonso just makes perfect sense. He brings that feel-good factor back to the club, which has completely disappeared this season. He’s not a yes man who’ll take any shit. He knows how to get the best out of Wirtz, won the European Cup with Liverpool, and he’s a born winner.
Anfield Sector@AnfieldSector

[🟢] BREAKING: Arne Slot stands on the verge of the sack at Liverpool, with Xabi Alonso waiting in the wings to replace him. Liverpool’s 10th league defeat of the season, a loss to Brighton at the weekend, has sealed Slot’s fate at Anfield. He will leave in the summer, and Liverpool have avoided an immediate dismissal only because their Champions League rivals have also dropped points. [Axel Hesse, @BILD via @Sport_Witness]
