As President, I will restore integrity to the agencies that are supposed to serve and protect the public. One way is stricter rules and longer waiting periods for retired officials to enter industry and lobbying. Even more important is to recruit new officials with backgrounds in activism. The USDA should include regenerative farmers and food sovereignty activists. The FDA should include alternative medical practitioners. The SEC should include people active in the “retail rebellion” that is fighting for the rights of small investors. I’d like to put some former prisoners in the Bureau of Prisons. I’d like to put a few homeless people in HUD. The DOD needs a few peace activists. The Department of Labor needs some people who’ve worked minimum wage jobs. We need to bring in ideas and perspectives from outside conventional policy circles. And we need to bring in people of high integrity who are ready to altruistically serve our nation. #Kennedy24
