If you use gen AI you aren’t being creative. You are not a director or an artist of any kind you are just pretending to be one while you steal from real artists and hardworking people. I would put anything I'm writing today up against anything an AI writes in the same genre. I only used the first manuscript bc it was written before my skills were honed to the degree they are now, and written at a time when I had to depend on 0 help beyond my imagination, research skills and my developing writer's voice and style. That fact that AI with all its training and perfect recall cannot write as good as a new writer with underlying and developing talent. What proves it's better? Well, my commercial successes for a start - something AI has not achieved. But also bc I can read and as an avid reader, I know the difference between quality writing and meh writing.

Every creative person I know that has embraced AI as a tool for their art has produced more content this month than all of last year. A true creative individual sees AI and feels completely empowered. They feel like the entire world has opened up to them. But a lot of self professed creative people, who have been grifting as creatives for decades, are about to be exposed as frauds who and pretenders who only know how to work within the politics of the current system. They will sit down before the greatest tool for creativity the world has ever known and not have a single idea how to use it or what story to tell. Pay attention to what is happening and who rejects the gift, and who embraces it.

I spent 10 years on concrete floors in UK manufacturing. I didn't transition to digital to build another invisible factory for myself. I build for profit, or it’s just an expensive hobby.

Building in silence is not a strategy. It is a hiding place. If you build a physical product in a factory and no one buys it, it’s called waste. If you build a SaaS in your bedroom and no one uses it, you call yourself a "Founder."
