The carrier is earmarked for a NATO operation to challenge Russian militarisation in the High North. Switching it to the Eastern Mediterranean when we already have an unsinkable aircraft carrier there would have created a pattern of response that Putin could play on. Makes sense and not controversial.

It's instead mobilising as part of nato commitments, which may involve a trip to the High North

Last year Merz called on Scholz to #FreeTaurus & proposed an ultimatum: if Russia didn’t halt attacks on Ukraine within 24hrs, 🇩🇪 should give 🇺🇦 Taurus. Herr Merz is @bundeskanzler now. Russia just launched the biggest air raid of the war. This is long overdue. Send Taurus now.
