I remember years ago before all this shit when I found a Fallout new vegas mod that was supposed to 'improve' the appearances of certain NPC's which were supposed to be injured amongst other things.
but as I read through the list of changes the mod made, like a good 70%+ of them were just "changed X NPC so their appearance matched their voice" and every time it was just raceswapping the NPC to being black because the voice actor was black,
my reaction then was "this is the stupidest thing ever, characters don't need to match their voice actors" and it should have been a warning of things to come
