@Agrivetbusiness @hallbarmerino @PhilWhitp4 Is there a specific website graham where you are getting that data or is it private farm data?
English

@Dynamic_Ag @hallbarmerino @PhilWhitp4 Check a few around Western Vic….
But need 24 hour average - soil temps used to be taken at 9 am & 3 pm & averaged to give “average soil temp”….
But with adoption of electronic probes have 24 hour average….
Nearest proxy - measure around midday but some variations day to day
English

@Agrivetbusiness @hallbarmerino @PhilWhitp4 Hey Graham, are there any particular sites you use to monitor soil temp. The one east of hamilton is on black cracking clays that have been cropped last 6 years, the other at Harrow which might not reflect temps sth of Hamilton. Still seeing lots of variation with probe at 9am
English

@hallbarmerino @PhilWhitp4 Good to see there’s a silver lining to the terrible autumn and June we had…
On plus side soil temps have been well above average and no waterlogging…
Should be seeing very good pasture growth rates at the moment…

@PhilWhitp4 Yep already feeling guilty I can't get to athletics day Thursday 🤔😳
English

@Dynamic_Ag Nah. Just the constant online app crap and come to this and that and give your time to this (or we will make you feel bad) and it goes on and on !

If you are a Vic farmer that feeds ewes through lambing, uses self feeders and scans for multiples - reach out and be part of this exciting research. Minimal time investment from your end as data collection occurs pre lamb and then at marking by me!! You keep the feeding records

Looking forward to delivering the very first Victorian @woolinnovation #simplifly workshop today with support from @VicGovAg. This AWI extension program is all about the tools available to manage flystrike.

@KerinPollMerino @NickMcClelland3 Gday Nigel, do you have a group that were teased as per your traditional method to make a comparison to the new method? Is this new protocol something new or is it becoming standard practice in NSW? TIA
English

@NickMcClelland3 Went in for 17 days
Out for 17 days
Back in for 17 days pulled out & joined.
Have no idea if it makes a difference scanning day will tell the truth Nick.
English

“PRE JOINING CHECKLIST”
*May drop ewe lambs
*Worm egg count = 70 epg ✅
*Body condition score = 3.2 ✅
*Average weight 58kg ✅
*76% of adult weight ✅
*Teased twice pre-joining ✅
*3% ram power
*Will be joined on pastures with very little variation in protein & energy levels (stable diet)✅
*17 day joining period rams out for 16 days back in for 17 days this 16-day window makes early weaning so easy✅
*Pregnancy scanner booked in✅
*Conception rate target 90% 🤷♂️
*Foetus count target 🎯145%
That's the plan anyway 🤷♂️will let you know the results 🤓

@k_bolto @MoorallaMerino @DarrenGordon22 Agree, but pasture quality will dictate rate of CS loss or gain. A 0.3 CS loss in a 60kg sheep equivalent to 3.6kg LW give or take. Hard to see that visually in full wool and if your not CSing every couple of weeks. Testing pasture establishes baseline to help work from.
English

@Dynamic_Ag @MoorallaMerino @DarrenGordon22 My view, sup feed ration best based on animal condition change/experience as it is hard to represent animal intake when testing pasture and all paddocks will be different. I think we can over complicate it.
English

@GerardDiprose Yeah agree. It doesn't matter where you are, they all need a tune up. It's obviously cheaper and easier to put signs out and slow traffic down than it is to fix them. It's just been years with nothing getting done and they get worse and worse. So frustrating.
English

@Dynamic_Ag Steve you didn’t have to drive that far from home to find rooted roads. 😂
English

7 signs within 200m on the minyip- horsham Rd. Haven't driven this road since before covid because it was shit then and nothing has been done. It's got far worse. At least 30 of these signs bw Donald and Minyip. #WTF #needawheelalignment

English

@Dynamic_Ag Hi Steve, would you mind if I use those images to share with vet students. I want to make sure they are aware of the potential pitfalls of regional/rural roads
