This decision serves as yet another reminder of the disparities in our system, as it seems to further sideline communities like East Harlem when it comes to ensuring quality, affordable education. We desire for all students to be successful in their post-secondary lives,

This ruling effectively makes higher education harder to attain, and will push many of the thousands of students in our network who were relying on possible relief in order to move forward with their lives financially and professionally to rethink major life choices.

As a result of this ruling, without student loan relief, or a means to mitigate the unrealistic and out-of-control college loan debt crisis, students will face an uphill battle in repaying loans.

This decision, which breaks with historical precedents that were meant to protect communities of color, will result in harmful consequences and limitations to their educational potential.
