I debated whether or not to post the following, but fuck it, I am not sure how much longer I will be on this cesspool of hate and lies. Here goes: I feel a sense of profound sadness. Contrary to what Kamala told us, we don’t appear to have more in common with each other than we do in difference. Remember Covid? We were never unified in how we handled the pandemic. We won’t be unified in what comes next. Our original sin of slavery plagues us to this day. A majority of this country places more value on the color of your skin and your gender, than the content of your character. You are judged even before you open your mouth. We are more a collection of tribes than a unified people, all vying for power. MAGA is a tribe - a personality cult - and we just elected the cult leader our king and the highest court made him unaccountable. Soon, there will be only one tribe. United in hate and division. Conform or be cast out. I am a lifelong student of history, always have been. Therefore, a lifelong student of human nature. The times change, but human nature does not. What comes next, I do not know, but history suggests a calamity. We elected the most unscrupulous, unqualified, illiterate and sociopathic man possible because people get their information in silos and are largely spoon-fed lies and propaganda. Most of the population are ignorant of facts and economics - and they like it that way. Trump represents the worst of us, full of hate, greed and misogyny. He will purge the government of competence and, eventually, purge it of conscience. It will become a tool of retribution and an extension of his rotten soul. The tools of violence will be turned inward and trained on us all. Trump aligns himself, and us, with the worst actors internationally. America First will mean America Last. We will no longer be the reliable partner in peace and therefore no longer the reliable partner in conflict. The world abhors a vacuum. Without US leadership and stability, the world will erupt in fire and no one will be there to prevent the spread. The fire will reach our shores and it will be too late to do anything about it. We are all about to relearn the lessons of history, the hard way. Winter is coming, friends. Do what you can to survive it.

@DMAC1971VET I have used both, with Frine being my preference. However, IMO, Flitz metal polish is the best. It is my #1 for fret polishing (or any other metal part).

@Lewis502 “Build it and they will come,” seems to be the mantra, packed with vague concepts of efficiencies. You know, the usual software / hardware sales pitch. Clients will pay, but will work the vendors against each other for lower pricing.

@EagleCfa It's wild how we're throwing massive amounts of cash at AI infrastructure without fully understanding the ROI. Sure, efficiencies sound great, but are we sacrificing stability for hype? The financial burden could haunt us later. What’s the long, term game plan?

Here’s the AI business / market in a nutshell: Let’s spend hundreds of billions of dollars to build out the necessary infrastructure to support our AI model using debt, private equity and stock issuance and selling the idea of improved efficiencies and lower overhead to clients. By the time we finish the buildout and field an AI model, we will have to compete with several other competitors in a crowded market and attempt to get paying customers for a commoditized product. Meanwhile, our hugely expensive infrastructure will be out of date in 2 years, by which time we won’t have the revenue stream to afford upgrading the equipment and compete with newer entrants in the market. Faced with declining revenue, we will have to attempt successive rounds of funding at lower and lower valuations (low revenue and no profit are tough sells after all). Even if we survive this 2-year period, it’ll be a race to the bottom on pricing and diminishing performance. Don’t worry - it gets worse for the majority of AI providers. After 3 years, our infrastructure is damn near worthless as newer entrants will be able to offer better performance and longevity for clients. After 4 years and severely diminished revenue and funding sources, we will be faced with bankruptcy, creditor lawsuits and vendor liens. After 5 years, we will cease to exist. For the few that remain in the market, they will never be able to recoup the initial investment needed to field a competitive product at current valuations and promised revenue streams. The write-downs will astronomical and the equity will be decimated. Only those companies with deep, reliable alternate revenue streams will survive (read: Meta and Google). The standalone AI companies will be toast as they don’t have another way to generate enough cash to subsidize the colossal infrastructure spend needed to support their AI product. Most of the AI standalone companies will be wiped out or bought out by Year 5. In the end, only the strong and diversified will survive (when has it ever been otherwise in IT) and AI will become just another product offered in a broad product line. #AI #Google #Nvidia #OpenAI #Meta

As in any collectible market, provenance is key to securing value. Unfortunately in 2026 the terms "Original Owner or Uncirculated " is used too much these days. Thinking in terms of a 75 to 85 year old instrument the math sometimes does not add up. Unless the seller is 120 years old the instrument might of changed hands in its lifetime. Photos, and paperwork ( ie: tags and receipts ) help tell the instrument's story and journey to your custodianship. 😎👍
