Hospitals follow the same rule: if Hamas uses them as weapons caches or terrorist HQs, they lose protected status and become lawful targets (AP I Art 52(2)). Same law applies to everyone: Iran, Israel, whoever. No special exemptions.

@AllenC10150650 @ClaytonLuke3 @RyanCMullally Not quite. Someone does get in trouble. If Iranians are voluntarily using themselves as human shields, GC IV places an affirmative duty on Iran to stop them. So, if they don't, the Iranian government is committing war crimes and can be punished for it.

Most other crit. facilities have on-site backup generation capabilities. If you don't want civilian power plants to be targeted, then one needs the military to supply all its own power. 🤷♂️

🚨HORRIFYING🚨 Jurors will listen to the audio of 7-year-old Athena Strand being strangled to death by FedEx driver Tanner Horner. Horner pleaded guilty to capital murder, but a juror will decide if he should be sentenced to death. Strand told the child, “Don't scream or I'll hurt you,” as he picked her up and put her in his truck. The child tried to fight Strand off during the attack—his DNA was found under her nails. Prosecutors added that his DNA was found, “in places where you shouldn't find DNA on a 7-year-old girl.” The girl’s mother is for the death penalty being implemented.

The school incident wasn't a war crime: it wasn't targeted *for being a school*; it was targeted because it had been an IRGC building and the intel on it was stale.
